Watherhen vs. Cronin, Harris vs. Ritch Set for “Obsession”

King of the Cage Canada will return to Edmonton, Alberta, for the promotion’s final event of the year on November 18th, and fans throughout the region will be treated to two compelling co-headliners.

In one of “Obession’s” feature attractions, Canadian middleweight champion Elmer Waterhen will square off with American Joe Cronin.

Waterhen is coming off a split decision loss to Zach Blaber in September, while competing in a catch-weight bout set at 215lbs. The loss was the resilient vet’s first since last summer, and ended a three fight win streak that included victories over Brad Stewart, Samurai Khardassian and Jason Gory.

In Cronin’s last outing, he scored a TKO win over veteran and BJJ black belt Shannon Ritch, while fighting for Rage in the Cage. Cronin, who has been fighting for nearly a decade, is 2-3 in his last five bouts.

And in the November 18th card’s other feature attraction,  local fighter and renowned grappler Luke Harris will take on the aforementioned Ritch.

Harris (6-1) hasn’t competed since June when his bout with John Troyer was declared a  no-contest, due to a cage malfunction. Harris has won six straights bouts since dropping his pro debut, a run which includes victories over Steve Fader, Dan Chambers and Nolan Clark while competing for KOTC Canada.

Ritch will be returning to KOTC Canada for the first time since he lost to Cody Krahn at the promotion’s 48th event last November. Prior to his defeat to Cronin, the dynamic vet had scored back-to-back wins over Richard Frye and Scott Guenther.

KOTC Canada’s Obsession card will be hosted by Edmonton’s Mirage Banquet Hall. Tickets are available for purchase through ClubZone.com or at the Wild West Shooting Centre.
